Wall Braced Direction
This article explains:
- the wall braced direction mentioned in Settings Center will be following the direction of the global axis system
- the wall braced direction mentioned in Section Design will be following the direction of the member local axis system
Braced Direction In Settings Center
In Settings Center > Lateral Drift & Bracing, the braced direction is referring to the global axis.
Braced Direction In Section Design
In Wall Section Design, wall will be following based on local axis system. Regardless of which direction of wall modelled in plan view/3D view, the major direction will always be presented horizontally.
In Wall Section Design > Slenderness, the direction of Bracing will be automatically braced at Dir-2 which is the minor direction.
